Full Cave Diver course 

           The TDI Full Cave Diver course is the pinnacle of cave diving training, designed for divers who have completed the TDI Intro to Cave Diver course and wish to advance their skills further. This rigorous program provides comprehensive training in advanced cave diving techniques, emphasizing safety, precision, and teamwork.

                                     Course Structure

The TDI Full Cave Diver course includes both theoretical and practical training components. Classroom instruction covers:

  1. Advanced Cave Diving Principles: Detailed exploration of cave environments, geological formations, and hydrology, along with an understanding of potential hazards and risk management.
  2. Dive Planning and Navigation: Advanced dive planning strategies, including complex navigation, multi-stage dives, and decompression procedures.
  3. Equipment Configuration: In-depth training on specialized cave diving equipment, including the use of stage bottles, scooters (DPVs), and advanced sidemount configurations.
  4. Emergency Procedures: Comprehensive emergency response training, focusing on complex scenarios such as multiple failures, lost diver procedures, and zero visibility situations.

                                      Practical Training

Practical training involves a series of progressively challenging cave dives, conducted under the direct supervision of a certified TDI Cave Diving Instructor. Key skills practiced include:

  1. Complex Line Handling: Advanced techniques for laying and retrieving guidelines, including traverses, jumps, and gaps.
  2. Buoyancy and Trim Mastery: Perfecting buoyancy and trim control to navigate tight restrictions and avoid disturbing delicate cave environments.
  3. Team Coordination: Enhanced communication skills, using hand signals, light signals, and touch contact to ensure effective team coordination in complex scenarios.
  4. Advanced Problem Solving: Realistic emergency scenarios to develop critical thinking, decision-making, and stress management skills under challenging conditions.


To enroll in the TDI Full Cave Diver course, divers must be at least 18 years old and have completed the TDI Intro to Cave Diver course or equivalent. They should also have a minimum of 100 logged dives, including experience in overhead environments.


Upon successful completion of the course, divers earn the TDI Full Cave Diver certification, enabling them to explore the most challenging cave environments with confidence and competence.
